Get a Grip!

I have a slight obsession with beautiful handbags. I like to collect them and treat them like children :) A huge trend I've noticed this season, are satchels, or any bag with a good sturdy handle. Not the most convenient when you need to throw it over your shoulder, but who said fashion was comfort and convenience?! For some of these bags? I'll take on the challenge. How often do you need two hands anyway ;)
Balenciaga

Louis Vuitton

Marc Jacobs

Gucci

Tori Burch

Here's hoping no one needs me to hold there child in an emergency while I'm out and about, because I will already be holding mine ;)

Things I am Sew loving!

We are back from Lake Powell! I have lots of blog reading to catch up on, but first a little bit -a -this, a little bit -a -that ;)

A lot of this!

swimming with the fishies!

loved the slippery slide!

hangin out with this cutie-my husband, ahh!

It was SO much fun, but we were ready to be home and missed our puppy children.

That pink harness? is a fond memory. she obliterated it, and the one her aunt Ana replaced it with :(

Reviews!

one of the my recent polish purchases I blogged about.
Essie's Sew Psyched
It has been a hit! (sorry for the blurry photo, I WAS at a stoplight)
the Boscia mask was PHENOMENAL. It peels off in one or two pieces, and left my face micro-derm soft and rosy! It's sold out at many Sephora's so I recommend you hustle if it interests you!

That's all for now! I think I'll continue with some wedding re-caps coming up :)

Happy Monday!

Sephora by way of Therapy

Next time I feel like skipping into Sephora to play with samples etc., I'm going to make a therapist my pit-stop. I realize that stores like this survive on creating an imaginary problem that we didn't even know we had until seeing the "cure", but my wallet is getting fed.up!

I'm going on vacation with some family and friends for a week, and while being on a house boat, in the sun, sand and water all day sounds glorious, my hair and skin needed some prep!

Enter Sephora:

self: "okaaay, I need some hair sunscreen concoction..."

self on self's shoulder: "really? I'm pretty sure you shouldn't have waltzed passed that pore-minimizing boscia mask so quickly. you're not getting any younger sister." {self on my shoulder has the voice of a sweet and sassy Queen Latifah}

self: "ohhh good call. and while I'm at it, I definitely need this $60 self tanner over this pasty skin!"

self on self's shoulder: "well...I wasn't gonna say anything, but it would look good on your new pore-less nose, girl!"

self: "well, I unfortunately now need new lip plumping gloss..."

self on self's shoulder: "of course. to enhance the tan and protected highlights. of. course."

And this was after I pulled my hoppy, skippy, Sephora self together. $$$ ka-chings later...

I should have stopped by a therapist's office to put a sock in the mouth of the self on self's shoulder.

The Beauty Loot
Review of this popular new mask to come!
Phyto Plage Protective Beach Spray

Dior Self-tanning spray

Okay...so I didn't buy this. But for $22, I definitely thought it was hilarious. "Yes, I need a cream just for putting my hair into a ponytail."

Does this ever happen to anyone else?! Thank goodness my cabinets are now full of things I never knew I always needed ;)

so major

I have a serious admiration for Rachel Zoe. I think most fashionistas can say that she has killer style instincts, and if you don't think that, then you can most likely appreciate how dryly hilarious she is.

So I was giddy to receive my daily dose of Rachel via The Zoe Report email, and see that we are running on the same wavelength ;)

You see, I am a polish FANATIC. I bring a huge case of polish to the nail salon because I can't stop buying beautiful lacquer for my fingies and tootsies. No soon did I paint my nail in "You Don't know Jacques" did I see Rachel "Military Mani" recommendations!

I purchased this recently and have yet to try it, but will post when I do! They're goin fast!
"Sew Psyched"

LES KHAKIS DE CHANEL collection
Currently sporting this gorgeous clay shade.
It has this amazing ability to have purple or green undertones
depending on what you're wearing :)
I had a professional coffee meeting today and
matching, clean nails always start my day off on the best note!

{Lauren Conrad for Kohls blouse and Jeggings. Love!}
{Please ignore my naughty puppy, rotten Peach, who is killing a stuffed animal and dragging stuffing all over as I take this picture. I am now accepting applications for those willing to adopt a very naughty but lovable weenie dog. Kidding. sort of .}

Weeeeenie wednesday...And a word from Obie

Eva looooves herself a bunny. No matter whose house she is at, she will find a stuffed bunny and mother it. Her favorite thing to do is take it outside where it belongs and hide it to keep it safe ;)

Obie-you and the Universe are TOO wise for your own good (if that's even possible!)

I know you already know this, but chelsea, the only way one can find their way is to first be lost. To make it big, start out small. To fall in love, first feel none. Yet, when such wishes are granted and the dreamers suddenly find themselves lost, small, and alone, you should hear the "expletives"!

So, look at it like this: Any such feelings are simply a sign that you've made a really, really big and daring "wish," and that its manifestation has already begun.

Foxy, clever, wry -

I had planned to show you this cute picture of my husband that I was messing with in photoshop....

But I can't ignore the recent events in my area. Prayers please for the Fourmile canyon fire burning over 3,500 acres just several miles from our home. Many people, including the firefighters working on the fire, have lost their homes-including pets. Winds have died down, but please pray! There has been so much wind that where I live is hazy and smells like a campfire, a constant reminder of what people are fighting to save a short distance west. Thank you for your prayers for those residents, and our beautiful land!

This beautiful canyon...
is now facing this...
this...
and this.

new hair, eyeshadow, etc.

I've had a serious itch. And itch I couldn't scratch for months! I just wanted a fresh look, nothing crazy, just something to spice things up a bit! Maybe it's getting married, maybe it's Fall approaching...maybe it's the fact that all my pictures over the last 8 years + or - 10 lbs and some highlights, look like a curly/straight/wavy version of the same photo.
So I chopped of my long-ies and now love my shorties! Don't I look feisty?!
I kid. But I do love the new, easy look :)

no this isn't me re-enacting blair witch, I'm just camera illiterate today apparently!
ANNNNND on a whim I purchase some Almay intense i-color
to see if it would really bring out these big ol' greenies!

Verdict: I think I it would have been more effective had I been more
heavy-handed with the color.
But for day, it's a fun bit of color:)

The gorgeous and thrifty new Bride over at Frugalista Getting Married passed these fun questions on to me, so read on if you're bored and DYING to know more. teehee ;)

1. If you could have one wish granted what would it be?
To be able to travel anywhere, anytime without having to worry about finances or who will watch our furry little munchkins.
2. Do people in your real life know about your blog or do you keep it to yourself?
Ohhh Lordy...this is one I sometimes regret. But yes, many many people I know, know I blog! So they know the nerdy and crazy thoughts that go through my noggin and would probably otherwise keep there!
3. If you could change one part of your body or appearance what would it be?
Hmmm. I don't want to go down pitty party lane because what's the point? God made us all unique and is his eyes for a reason. So I'm good with it. BUT I would like to change my internal body and speed up my metabolism! I'm a furnace already, but this way I could eat pancakes for every meal and not worry about skinny jeans {or lack there of}
4. If you became a billionaire would you quit your current job?
let's get down to brass tacks: Billionaire or not. I will always be trying new jobs, trying to find a way to make a living doing what I love.
5. What do you like best about your body or appearance?
I now love being short. No particular advantage, I just love that I overcame feeling insecure for being 5'1" and some change. I was teased allll through highschool!
6. What is something that people might be surprised to know about you?
I love classical music. I played the violin from the age of 8 to 20. need to pick it up again :)
7. If you were forced to give up one of your 5 senses which one would it be?
yikes! can't do this one. I would never be okay with losing any!
8. If you could have any superhuman power what would it be?
breathe under water. I have dreams about it alll the time. I would swim the Great Barrier Reef all day every day:)

Thanks for hanging in there and I pass it on to you so we can all learn about YOU!

if you don't do another thing today...

click to learn- it going on this very minute.

Please, please,PLEASE!
If this is not a cause that strikes a cord with you, find one that does, and make the effort manageable for you. I know this kind of topic makes most uncomfortable. And we need to be uncomfortable more often, because it seems to be what moves us to help. I hate being preachy. But if it can set the wheels in motion for ONE person to make a difference, that's a good, good thing. At the end of the day, helping others is what really counts :)
