That time I pulled a blog post out of my

iphone album ;)

I apologize in advance for being absent from commenting, conversing etc. on your sweet blogs and comments.
What can I say...the new job has left my brain a sort of mush. I have taken in much information, walked many miles on tile floors, worked 3 over-nighters in a row followed by my typical early mornings, and capped the week off with a 13 hour work day. This kid is spent.  But spent has never felt so good :) You really can't put a price on having a passion for what you do!

Until I have a bit more of a chance to catch my breath, I'll leave this blog post to my phone's album highlights. Random, just as I am ;)
I hate to boast, but it's weenie wednesday.
And my girls are cleaning up each others faces in its honor.
My drive home from work after my first overnighter. my body was like
"jigga-wha?" and I'm all "girl paleeeaase"
A fraction of the plants we have filled our courtyard with to make us smile :-)

Extra credit/smile points? some of the planters were our wedding center piece urns nearly a year ago!
Awwwe
An every night ritual this summer
squeezing in some time to brew our own summer beer!

We have BIG plans for this beer
A half-assed attempt at creative nail art. Don't be jelly.
Speaking of Jelly, I need this fabulous yet functional item.

It is Rachel Zoe. And I need it. Plain.as.day.
This martini has affectionately been named the Chel-tini by my dear friend Kari, after she shook it up for me, I immediately was obsessed with its skittleness, and then we noticed it matched my outfit. duh.

Does it get any more random than this? Thanks for sticking with me. I owe you a scoop of ice cream on a patio.

I hope the rest of this week finds you all happier than a bird with a french fry :o)

I got a fever-and the only cure is more Chevron!

I've been riding the Chevron wave for a few months, and cannot seem to get enough of this trend!

If you feel at any point in time, that your life is just too easy, try and paint your nails chevron print. It will change you forever. Kind of like prison...only totally not...

okay, enough about my nails..I clearly need to leave creative nails to the experts!

I'm fairly certain I need orange chevron curtains somewhere in my house like 5 minutes ago.
Also have plans for a striped wall.BIG plans ;)

My heart is shattered into tiny pieces to have stumbled upon this vintage 50's dress, only to learn it's price tag {$699} Really? I could have bought a new car for that in the 50's!
{I do accept gifts ahem}

Whew! that was quite a bit of Chevron! {who am I kidding, I could have looked at 4,007 times more}
Is there a trend you can't get enough of?

ex.haust.tion.

I wanted to post some outfits of the day, but I've been getting up at 4:00 for work and have been avoiding turning on the spot lights to take a pic, as I think this may lead to my husband asking himself why he married such a silly woman who needs to take blog pics at this hour. Lets face it: I've been putting my makeup on in the dark, just wingin' it if you will...in order to pretend that maybe I am still asleep, no?

"But Chelsea..." you ask..." Not that we care, but you could just take the pic when you get home!"
Good thinking, my pretty kitties. But the plain fact 'o the matter is I look like a disheveled mad scientist by the time I get home and have a glass of wine and/or bowl of ice cream in my hand before the door has completely shut ;) {don't judge, it is my 5 o'clock}

Anyhoo, I am venturing into full-time visual merchandising for a company that wishes to remain unnamed on said blog. I left part-time "pretty" job, looking for more of a challenge in something I actually went to school for {partially}.

-crack of dawn working hours for the early bird? Check
-coffee indulgence? check check
-creative authority? Check
-showering before bed so I can achieve a sweet afro in the a.m.? Chchcheck
-work day ending at 1? Cheeeyeck
-Challenge? BIG ol' check!

SO, sparing you my early morning look, which resembles an extra from thriller music video.   I give you the best part of my OOTD yesterday.

I'm kickin it up a notch with my alternating nails... I dipping my toe in the water. I must. Did I mention my counterpart at work wore a pinstriped blazer, spandex shorts, and biker boots and rocked it?! So you see I have no choice.

I plan on figuring out how to turn a skirt into a shirt, and a shirt into a hat and a scarf to turn into harem pants just to keep up ;)

The alternating nails. Thoughts?
This refreshing water {image via mylot} has been saving me this summer!

To continue with the random tone of this post, I'm thinking I need to change up my hair somehow...nothing cray cray, but some more golden and cool platinum tones like these lovelies

And of course Eva nudged me with her nose to remind me it's weenie wed. and ms. sassifrass has learned to smile for photos : D

CHEESE!

Birds of a feather ;)

In my last post I gushed a teeny bit over discovering Taylor Kenney Jewelry, actually based in Fort Collins, a town that will always hold a piece of my heart since spending those special 4 years of college there. I digress {as is normal}.

I have found a new friend in this talented jewelry artiste! Taylor found my gushing smidget and offered to send me a piece of my choice {twisty-twist my lil arm}.

Honestly? It was like picking your favorite child...or fur child in my case.
But somehow...I managed to whittle it down to quite a fab choice if- I -do- say -so- myself -thank- you- very- much!

Warning: the image you're about to see features a girl with no make up, dark circles, and roots to marvel Madonna

feather earring

The Feather Earrings are a pair of actual feathers which have been dipped in a layer of 24 karat gold. Very lightweight, with such a gorgeous golden hue! Length is 2 and 3/4 inches. Gold filled earwires.

They are so LIGHT! Thank you, thank you Taylor Kenney, for your generosity, and for your creativity captured in these gorgeous pieces :)

Oh, and guess what friends? I have a new job! eeeek! I will share more soon, I'm so excited/nervous.

Have a splendid book-end of a week loves!
