Make it Sew!

Before heading into a fun-filled weekend, I wanted to post some projects I made last weekend, and am just now getting around to posting!! I often go for weeks and weeks without touching the sewing machine. But on saturday? This girl was hooked! For HOURS! It was fabulous and I plan on making it priority next week :)

~a few months ago, I made a little adjustable dress for our sweet little niece, Parker for Christmas. Can't wait to see it on her ;) {even if it looks to shabby to show anyone else!}

And this weekend I made:
~an apron
~ a pillow with french ballet print and matching tulle ruffles
~2 checkbook covers {thanks for the idea, Whit}
~a coin purse

Don't you just love it when those creative juices get flowing? Everyone have a wonderful weekend!

woof

A gift has come into David and my life as of a few days ago. This gift has reminded us how easy God has made it to immediately, and whole-heartedly love another unconditionally. It has breathed new life and the playfulness of youth into our household. And it has made me cringe at the daunting task of potty training, chewing {shredding instantly} patrol. Yes, my generous {no-self-control} brother has gifted our little family with its newest member, Peach Inga Ellis, mini weeny dog to match her sister, Eva.
Chad, we couldn't love this little terrorist any more, but when we come a-knockin on your sweet little bach pad downtown with two sassy, weiner dogs {eying your italian leather shoes while licking their tiny lips} and maybe some toddlers in tow,and all the sitters have turned us down because we will be "those" people that let their children run amuck- just remember one very sweet nothing: paybacks,my brother, are a big bitch :o)

sorry for the terrible ivideo! I misplaced our video cam ;)

Snap!

Ok ladies and a few gentlemen. Now-I'm a born and raised Colorado girl. But these cold snaps? are seriously starting to seep through my layers of down and fleece, making a pit stop at my goosebumps that once resembled skin, and down through to my soul!! Each year, I think I get colder! I love the snow to pieces and pieces. But give a girl and her little VW Beetle a break! Or I am packing up my little family and dragging us to...I don't know...Phoenix. Okay? Thanks Mother Nature. We'll talk again soon I'm sure ;)

Enough whining, let's continue on with my natural high of a brand new sparkling year, I hope everyone still has that warm and tingly holiday feeling and that you are enjoying your new year :)

Here is a look at our last few days of hibernation:

{I apologize for the terrible picture quality! I need to stop pretending the camera on my iphone is a suitable camera for documenting our entire life!}

It's okay to giggle. I am a total fat-loss/new years resolution stereotype! But in my defense, I'm getting married! David and I had to laugh when we decided we don't want to look like the Pillsbury Dough couple walking down the aisle ;) This was breakfast yesterday, yum!
Such a serious face for such a fun bundled up ensemble :)
The weather IS ideal for cuddling.
New Year= New Hair! Had my bangs cut shorter! We'll see how this translates to my normally curly hair..hmmm can you say bobby pins and headbands?!
Sorry it's so dark and fuzzy :{

Well, so far I am liking this decade! The 10's...How weird is that?!
Hook 'em Horns!!!

Endless possibilities!

I love the positive charge a new year gives you. And what I love better? Is the super charge a new decade provides! Like I've seen a bunch on other blogs, I too, have a mouthful of resolutions for this glorious 2.0.1.0. But I will just highlight a few big changes for this new year!
Let's get down to brass tacks:

A} David and I are officially on a wedding healthy eating plan {diet is a 4-letter word, no?}
-we are doing well so far and our bodies were crying for a detox after the holidays, which I'm thinking about re-naming indulgence days...hmmmm

B} Our work is on the upswing! David has some really promising business coming his way on a
few different fronts and my little side business of hand-sewn goods is growing! All my stuff
sold at the store and I have ordered more fabrics and can't wait to get to work:)

C} I'm going back to school! I'm planning on getting my masters in technical communication!

D} We recently moved in with my brother, and today we helped move him into the cutest apt. downtown. I'm so happy for him because he is an urban dweller and his place totally reminds me of Carrie Bradshaw's apt. in Sex and the City. I think I'll call his place Sex and the Mile High City! And I'm happy for us because we now have the opportunity to continue renovating the condo that is in my brother and my name, and eventually put it on the market :)
I think I may document it on here!

Carrie's Bathroom
Her Bedroom
Her closet, of course!
Entryway
sweet old kitchen

E} Wedding plans are going to be getting down to details! Starting with BM dress fitting this weekend, I can't wait! Next, is the challenge of the timeline....I'm getting heart palpitations just thinking about it!

F} My sweet Grandpa is in a new nursing home and doing the best since his stroke Sept. 11, 2008.

What a way to start this new year, and new decade!!! Happiness is a state of mind, right?! Now I'm off to catch up on blogs!

With Him, anything is possible :)

"Ask, you will receive; seek, you shall find; knock, and the door will be opened to you." (Matt. 7:7)

We wish you all many blessings this New Year:)
