Ramblings

Soooooo I'm not really getting into the bachelorette like I thought I would tonight, ENTER Blogging:

It's been a really crazy couple of weeks and I find myself having to make a conscious effort to blog. I love it, but those little things you do for fun and relaxation are always the first to go when you're super busy unfortunately, doesn't it seem that way??

First off, I really want to thank everyone for reading my Examiner articles. Even if it's only once in a while, I appreciate it and I really think you guys are helping me to do well with my readership there, and it's been so cool to see! If you don't read it however, I will be sure to post wedding stuff up here regularly because what girl doesn't love reading about wedding stuff every now and then? It's just such a lovey dove fun time with fam, friends, oh-and your luuuuuv ;)

Today, after getting some work issues out of the way, I met up with one of my bridesmaids Amber (please pardon the randomness of my thought process) and we just wanted to start a laid back process of the dress search for the girls. Mind you, we are looking at setting a date for a year from this summer, but I want to take my time and enjoy planning:) We found some great possibilities, it was tough because they all looked so cute on her, and I can picture how great everyone will look! Gosh I can't wait.

And did I mention I LOVE writing bridal style for the column? Not only does it give me an excuse to scope out every bridal place that tickles my fancy, but it gives me a chance to spend time with my girls:) getting their opinions, questioning little details, and then rewarding our hard work with lunches! This could be bad, I need to start adding some time at the gym because the dreaded "bridal diet" is no.where.in.sight.

I will post some bridal inspirations when it starts to come together a bit more. Did anyone have a hard time settling on one idea? I am one of those people who is always all over the place I guess!

Ok, Jillian is talkin it out with Chris...I guess I'll get back to it. I hope she ditches the weird foot fetish guy.

love love!

In Memoriam

I hope everyone had a restful, wonderful and thoughtful long weekend!
Looking back, it seems that I was not only taking time to remember all of those who have sacrificed and fought to keep our country free, I was taking time to remember my college years...and try to replicate them once again!
It was a drizzly weekend but we made the most of it!
Friday we went out for delish mexican food and margs to celebrate our engagement with Gina and Dustin, and then continued celebrating with old friends into the night! I'm pretty sure I was acting out my own music video whenever the Pussycat Dolls came on... unfortunately, not only did all my friends have to witness this tragic break-down of composure, but my sweet David had to see it all go down too. And he still loves me:) Oh AND don't worry, it was captured on camera, albeit fuzzily!

Katie and I breakin it down. This is the only one I will post. Facebook is bad enough.

Saturday was movie day! David and I saw Night at the Museum II. It was so cute and entertaining! And now I want to work at the museum.

Sunday we ventured out to Taylor and Missey's Memorial Make-out party. Don't ask. It was just full of games and couples were asked to wear sweats ha! It was so fun and I had my own party with my own bottle of vino that was soooo yum! Good thing my friends still love me even though I crack my self up, when in reality I am so nerdy. And you can multiply that by 700 when I have a few drinks. And we definitely played Apples to Apples with a girl that DID NOT think team tri -delt was funny or amazing...So we had the church giggles.

Missey and I decided Rachel's umbrella was too cute with the lucite handle and needed to be opened up indoors. No bad luck here!

Monday we just relaxed, did some shopping and bbq'd in the rain at my parent's house.
All in all, a wet yet wonderful weekend!

Thursssday

First order of business: I was with another handsome fella today.

This is my family's baby boy Joker. We had to put his mamma down a few months ago so it's always nice to go love on him and feed him apples to keep that sweet belly round! He was very cuddly today:) I only wish we could keep him closer.

Next.Order. Of Biz to the nayesss:
I made the executive decision to add this little gem to my bathroom routine

So far I am totally loving my cheeks feeling like a baby's bum! I hope I can keep it up because it is supposed to have amazing cleaning/gentle exfoliating potential. It's the clarisonic cleanser from the creator of the sonic care toothbrush so I expect awesomeness. AND proceeds go to benefit breast cancer if you get it in pink:)

Ok, David is home so I'm going to go nuzzle up and watch that silly mall cop movie with him. Hope everyone had a great week!

Ohhh, and I know some of you lovelies want to see my new ring {eeeek!}, but I feel funny posting it, I LOVE it though :) If you still wanna see it e-mail me or give me your e-mail!

I'm a FIANCE!

I.AM.EN.GAGED!

That's right my love bugs! David gets to look at my goofy mug every morning for the rest of our lives! And I get to look into his sweet face:)

Ok story. I have told this a hundred times, so what's typing it once more?! So, probably close to 6 months ago {has it been that long?!} David's cute little way of testing the waters with me, he asked one day in the car, "So, I'm thinking we should start looking around and seeing what rings you like. What do you think?" And I said "Awe, honeybug I would LOVE to be engaged to being engaged to you!" ha! that's what it's felt like the last few months, an engagement to an engagement. I'm so relieved to be out of "engagement limbo" I have affectionately named it. Anyways, David and I looked at tons and tons of rings but he could not pin me down to one specific style. Then one day I fell in ring-love. It happened with jeweler Bez Ambar on the Hyde park website. I knew I had found the closest thing to my ring because David had the best reaction to it as well. So he started working with a friend of the family's jeweler to design a ring similar to the one I had seen online. Only he added his own little touches, like diamond hearts on the gallery {eeeeee!} and after what seems like centuries in girl time, we are engaged!

Ok here's the scoop: I was running errands yesterday and having lunch with my mom, and she told me frantically "We need to leave" I asked if everything was okay and she made up some lame excuse. So we get home and after a little bit she says "Go get the mail!" I said "why don't you do it? my feet hurt." and she said all snotty "There's a boy skateboarding up and down the walk and I don't wanna deal with him!" whoa Stalin! Hold your horses I'll go get the mail geez! So I walked to the front door where my mom literally pushed me saying "go,GO!"
I was looking for this annoying boy and over under the trees in my mom's yard was David on one knee with a dozen red roses in one arm, and a ring glittering in an open box in the other. Now, everything from here on out is a blur, but here's my version that will forever be burned in my brain.  David said in his sweet southern accent "Come here little lady, I've got a question to ask you." I walked over in the grass {immediately crying} and at this point, David's eyes are welling, and before we both lose it he manages "Will you marry me?" I think what I said was "OF COURSE" and he put my ring on my finger, both our hands shaking, and stood up and kissed and hugged me and swung me around! sigh. so adorable. I'm such a lucky girl!
Then of course all our neighbors were standing on the driveway and had to come share the moment;)
Here are a few "re-enacting" shots my mom insisted on getting

I wish I had done my hair:/

I'm off to see my *Fiance* off on a business trip! Have a wonderful weekend!

Dear Deanna

This is for you buddy. I'm sorry everyone, in advance, for this lame boring post. But I told my buddy-boo I'd write something to entertain her.
So today we took the dogs to Standley Lake. Good thing it is only a mile from our house. Because I was annoyed that their is no swimming or letting dogs off leashes and I desperately wanted to watch how cute they would be swimming! We just walked a bit along the shore line. What is up with having a lake without A)fishing off ALL the docks
B)swimming or wading C) a nice little trail around the WHOLE body of frickin water?
I mean I can see allowing one, and not the other for safety reasons, but they might as well post signs everywhere stating "NO FUN ALLOWED"
AND  i may or may not have stepped in duck poop.
I guess we will reserve that lake strictly for convenient picnics and s'mores:)

Clicking my flip-flops

I am so totally desperate to get away somewhere tropical! It's finally getting really warm and beautiful here in denver, but I still need my sand and waves! Hmmm...maybe if I click my Havaianas enough, I will be transported somewhere where I can surf with Dave and squish the sand in my tootsies!

For now, I'll just have to dream. AND of course pick out what I would pack!

J.Crew

Oh yes, lastly...I'm going to pretend that my bikini will look just as fabulous on my booty as it does on the model. ugh!
