Beth asked where we are getting married and I am so happy to tell you we are to be married in Beaver Creek at this Chapel :)

Beth also asked where I went to school. I went to CSU and I cannot gush enough about the great experiences I had here! I used to hang out in the oval, below, and study!
Beth also asked how Obie came to be named Obie. David actually named him after Ben Affleck's character, O'banion in Dazed and Confused.

Okay, gotta run and watch the Office! I can't wait to post tomorrow about a Pink Party I helped a dear friend with today!

Many changes in my life lately!!! And I like to think they're all good. It's all about your perspective, correct? So my blog world has become sweeter since this fabulous and entertaining blogger entered my blog sphere! I've had a 1.5 glasses of wine, so forgive me if this post is all over the place and bizarre. I just moved and turned my world inside out. Give a girl a break. And these fingers totally earned a mani after all this moving. I digress. As I was saying-err typing, Beth, over at the wonderful Social Climbers is a new blog friend and was kind enough to pass this award on to moi! THANK YOU BETH! Ironically, when ever I am actually invited to talk about myself, I draw a complete and utter blank! I hope you forgive me :)

7 things about me:

1}I love coloring. {not like the sex and the city coloring, but real coloring..ahem...as well} It's a stress release and I always have to be doing more than one thing at a time or a get stir crazy. enter: coloring while watching a movie, chit-chatting etc.

2} I love to sing Disney ballads in the shower. Living with 60 girls in college, the little Mermaid was a popular choice in the bathroom for everyone to join in on while I was showering!

3} I love forensic science. I wanted to go into crime scene investigation but I was worried it would make my life to dreary. Real life unfortunately ain't no CSI episode yo!

4} I am still trying to find what I am meant to do in this life! maybe all kinds of things at different times. Teaching? {I taught my dolls and barbies growing up} or design...or opening a bakery! too little time :) and $$$!

5} I studied abroad in Florence in college, which, by the grace of God, lead to me finding the love of my life in Dallas 2 years later.

6} I am elated to marry said love next August!

7} hmmm is it lame if for the last one, you ask me any question on your brain?? That sounds fun right?! Please ask! I'm an open book lovees :)

We have been running around like crazy, moving and re-doing our new bedroom and on top of it, a nasty flu bug hit me like a freight train a few days ago, giving me a sultry voice I could never have otherwise ;) But I just wanted to get in a post this week!

We went down to Houston {Thank you Patsy!} this weekend to surprise David's family for his Mimi's 100th Birthday! Way to go Mims! She's just as sassy as ever.

A dear family friend, Janette, wrote the loveliest, most authentic story about this sweet Joanne. I managed to get a few pics with my phone this weekend and when looking at these, I couldn't resist quoting a snipit of the opening to her life story.

"A cup of coffee and a piece of cake sure would be good," the smiling but grizzled, gray haired lady whispers into her favorite rag doll's ear. Long lost in the past, she sits quietly on the sofa, silently reclaiming the childhood stolen by Death and Poverty.

"A cup of coffee and a piece of cake sure would be good," she says again as she kisses her babydoll. A deep laugh reminds those around her of the days when she knew all their names. The old lady laughs again at something only she can see and remembers what she never forgot.

The story really is a great one. And it got me thinking about how quickly life can take us full-circle. And how you can enjoy the eccentricities of our elder loved ones, while simultaneously enjoy watching sweet babies discover new and wonderful things with eyes opened wide. Things that over the years, we take for granted or don't even notice. There is something so special about a baby, and about a loved one weathered by a long life full of memories and stories of different times.

The funny thing is, after being a spectator of those who have reached 100 years old, and those who have yet to reach one year...it has made me appreciate being somewhere in the middle even more. What a view I have! Sigh. Take today to enjoy those around you, young, old, and everywhere in between :)

Sneak Peak

I was pulling weeds in the backyard the other day, preparing for the move, when low and behold! A first glimpse of Fall! I couldn't resist snapping a few hidden picks with my phone. Fall is my absolute heaven, I wish it was 10 months long. We're trying to plan our engagement photos for when the leaves are all turning! If we can't swing it though, I can't say a beautiful snowing scene is a bad setting either ;)

The End of a Chapter

So, I've mentioned some changes going on in our life lately, the most major change being that we are moving! It is actually very bittersweet for us both. I knew when our lease ended, that I wanted to move. We haven't fallen in love with any homes yet, and in this economy, we are going to need to get all our ducks in a row in order to qualify for a decent loan. Being sort of self-employed has put us in a pickle among other things!

Luckily, my brother has been great enough to invite us to stay with him, where there is plenty of space and **DING DING DING** rent-free!

This is a very bittersweet time. We are moving out of our first home together. Out of the home that we decided to take a chance and move our relationship from long-distance, to living together! Eeeeck! Bittersweet because we're losing some privacy, and robbing my brother of his. I keep reminding myself of the sweetness in this bittersweet deal.

1} not paying someone else's mortgage! woohooo!

2} hangin out with my lively brother :)

3} saving lots of money every month to be ready to buy a cute first home

4} living closer to my parents (this one is teetering on the edge...kidding mom. love you)

5} walking distance to Starbucks!!

It's an exciting, but very nerve-racking time. I just keep telling myself, without the bitter, we wouldn't appreciate the sweet :o)

Whew! I have had A LOT of caffeine today so I can't sit and type too much on here, but I just wanted to post something because lots is going on and I also have to catch up on many fabulous blogs!

Have you ever been in a place in your life where you feel like you're on the brink of, or in the midst of major changes or evolution in your life...and you may not know exactly where it will lead...but you feel in your bones, it is a good thing? I feel some major opportunities to grow and I'm a little bit scared, and so many things are bittersweet...but at the same time it gives me butterflies. Almost like the butterflies that visit when David and I are holding hands. And I look down. And my heart is just filled with contentment and joy. Knowing that I will be able to look down at our hands held when they are old and wrinkled with life's work written all over them!

Wow this is a random post.

One change: I'm starting a mini-sewing business! Just starting out simple, at a little nook in an antique shop...it will be filled with things like this pillow I whipped up in 10 minutes yesterday! (after a terrible sewing lesson with Amber...you are a champ!)

Another change: My sweet baby girl, Eva was spayed on Monday. She's usually very frolic-y and happy, so it broke momma's heart to see her all layed up for a few days:( No weeny babies for this girl.

I will post more this week on fun changes, just like the beautiful leaves of fall!!

Ambush!

Are you curious about the Bridal Show? Below is an example of how I felt in the middle of a bunch of wedding vendors and brides(zillas).

Picture going to a used car dealership with a sign that reads "GULLIBLE" on your forehead and cash hanging out of your pocket. That's what this show reminded me of...

All in all, it was a fun experience and my mom got to make some new gay boyfriends. AND I won $400 in photography and a set of China! OOh and a bunch of free Kinerase! But one of the best parts, was getting to see my favorite downtown blue bear:)Can you see me and Amber under him?

On another note, I'm amazed how the CA fires are affecting us! It's been so hazy here and I know photos don't do sunsets justice, but it was on FIRE last night!!

My sweet cupcake got home from his work trip last night, so what better way to say "I'm glad you're home!" Than with vanilla blue-marbled cupcakes?!
