Tales of Nails

I like to paint my nails.

I also like to take pictures of my nails to share polishes I love etc.

I often marvel at things big and small in this world: How such a beautiful seashell came to be by happy accident...by the constant motion of the ocean...how trees take in carbon dioxide and release oxygen back to us...And how it came to be that women paint their nails...{silly, no?}

 this is my latest purchase.
OPI It's my year
It really is prettier in person, and in the sun YOWZA!

everyone has their experimental moments in life...this was mine with Sally Hansen Salon Effects polish strips. Me knowing me, I thought I'd at least start with the trendy ring fingernail for sporting an alternate shade of polish because I do NOT have the patience on most days to apply the strips 9 more times.
Twice was do-able :)

It's easy in the hustle and bustle of the week, to not show moments of unexpected love to those around you.

We are making those little extra efforts around here, and I recommend it to everyone!

Have a great week!

Can we do each other a favor? Let's stop with the pretense that this blog has any rhyme, reason, or thoughtful direction. It serves it's purpose as my blog-which is to purge my crammed brain of some crazy. And hopefully is entertaining {at least to my mother} in the process!

Shall we begin? I hope you haven't had your ADD meds, because you'll follow right along ;)

In NO particular order, since we've last chatted, I have...
had the yummiest crepes and window shopping with one of my best girls in one of my favorite summer dresses!
I have been a tester of delicious summer beverages (to make sure they are fit for mass consumption)
(I can be so selfless)
(so it took a few glasses to be SURE it was flawlessly tasty)
(okay-so I enjoyed it a bit)
Pineapple juice, sparkling water, lime Gin...squeeze of lime...think that's it.
I've been better about taking pictures of my wall builds and outfitting for my portfolio!

My husband and I celebrated our 1 year anni! We had cake for lunch because we were too excited to wait until after dinner when we'd be stuffed :)
may I remind you? zucchini lime cake with lemon custard.
Jean-YUS. Gen.i.us. GeNiUs!
out to dinner on such a perfect night!
 David+coffee= happy husband

oH! How did this $890 dollar Valentino skirt get in here?
I like to look at it because
A) I don't have the $$$ to buy said skirt
B)If I had said $$$ I wouldn't spend it on said skirt
C) I'm trying to cut back on such unnecessary fashion items
made out of said skirt's material: Leather.
So let's just say it's pretty and move on :-)
 miss you, mean it.

sooooo, yeah. that happened.

so the jig is up:a domestic diva, I am not.

I got confused when I saw a sink full of dishes in dirty water and tried running the disposal to no avail allll day and came to the proud conclusion that the motor was broken. I even tried to hunker down under the sink and jiggled pipes around "trying" to fix it...

I put flowers in my fire place for goodness sake. fake but fabulous thankyouverymuch ;)
thank you, all-mighty God, that the way to my husband's heart is not through his stomach. {well, it's not the ONLY way}

It's almost friday, cheers to that!

That time I pulled a blog post out of my

iphone album ;)

I apologize in advance for being absent from commenting, conversing etc. on your sweet blogs and comments.
What can I say...the new job has left my brain a sort of mush. I have taken in much information, walked many miles on tile floors, worked 3 over-nighters in a row followed by my typical early mornings, and capped the week off with a 13 hour work day. This kid is spent.  But spent has never felt so good :) You really can't put a price on having a passion for what you do!

Until I have a bit more of a chance to catch my breath, I'll leave this blog post to my phone's album highlights. Random, just as I am ;)
I hate to boast, but it's weenie wednesday.
And my girls are cleaning up each others faces in its honor.
My drive home from work after my first overnighter. my body was like
"jigga-wha?" and I'm all "girl paleeeaase"
A fraction of the plants we have filled our courtyard with to make us smile :-)

Extra credit/smile points? some of the planters were our wedding center piece urns nearly a year ago!
Awwwe
An every night ritual this summer
squeezing in some time to brew our own summer beer!

We have BIG plans for this beer
A half-assed attempt at creative nail art. Don't be jelly.
Speaking of Jelly, I need this fabulous yet functional item.

It is Rachel Zoe. And I need it. Plain.as.day.
This martini has affectionately been named the Chel-tini by my dear friend Kari, after she shook it up for me, I immediately was obsessed with its skittleness, and then we noticed it matched my outfit. duh.

Does it get any more random than this? Thanks for sticking with me. I owe you a scoop of ice cream on a patio.

I hope the rest of this week finds you all happier than a bird with a french fry :o)

I got a fever-and the only cure is more Chevron!

I've been riding the Chevron wave for a few months, and cannot seem to get enough of this trend!

If you feel at any point in time, that your life is just too easy, try and paint your nails chevron print. It will change you forever. Kind of like prison...only totally not...

okay, enough about my nails..I clearly need to leave creative nails to the experts!

I'm fairly certain I need orange chevron curtains somewhere in my house like 5 minutes ago.
Also have plans for a striped wall.BIG plans ;)

My heart is shattered into tiny pieces to have stumbled upon this vintage 50's dress, only to learn it's price tag {$699} Really? I could have bought a new car for that in the 50's!
