Ah, a day in the life...

When David leaves town, this is what my life becomes. Try to control your envy ;)

6:45. I am pleasantly awoken by Obie sneezing in my face and the sound of Eva wagging her tail against the walls of her crate. A blissful morning begins:)

8:00. Fix some black chai tea while listening to Al Roker's happy thoughts as my hair dries. Is that dirt on the baseboards again? Who put all these dirty cups in the sink? I think someone has been sneaking in my house while I'm gone and subtly dirtying up the place! They must know I HATE it when dust settles on the stove top...

9:30. Driving along, I recreate various music videos. "oh wake me up...before you go go" (oh hello sir in subaru:) oh don't look at me like that, you were the one with your finger up your nose. that's right. I saw it.)

10:30. I drop my grandpa off at the doctor (I've evolved into a "life assistant" since my grandpa's stroke) and send him in with a business card listing his doctor's name and location(I will never make this mistake again).

10:35. I get to the Doc's and my grandpa is nowhere to be found. I begin to fill out his chart in hopes that someone has put him on the right track to the office (another mistake).

10:45. I run around the hospital building and thankfully find him arm in arm with the sweetest nurse! I see a big smile as he realizes I didn't drop and ditch him and all is well.

12:00. After the appt. I go to get the car as my grandpa doesn't feel like making the walk through the lot so we agree he will sit in the sun on the bench (you would think I had learned).

12:03. I drive around to the front to pick him up with no avail. Missing. Again. (mind you, we just left the neurologist who told me grampa just has a bit of confusion. NOT alzheimers!) At this point I'm wondering if he is playing games with me because he knows he is adorable and can get away with it! I find him walking through the parking lot and I let him hitch a ride with me:)

1:30. I arrive at the office with the intent to be in and out before people actually start to think I belong there (not likely in a building full of bankers and CPAs as I'm running around in either UGGs and jeans or a sun-dress and flip-flops).
My pretty Desk:)

My view
3:45. Files are filed. Bills paid, faxes completed, and internet surfed. Now if I can just sneak past the long-winded but very sweet banker who always spots me and shouts across the bank "CHELSEA!......HIIII!....WHERE'S YOU'RE LITTLE DOG?!"

3:49. Success. I am out! DANGGIT! I left my diet dr. pepper upstairs...

4:25. The GYM! Finally. I actually love my gym, it is utterly fabulous which helps motivate me to go!

4:27. In the locker room getting ready to sweat out those pesky stress bugs! Don't you just love how nothing relaxes-AHHH EXCUSE ME MA'AM IS THERE ANY WAY YOU COULD CONTINUE STRETCHING AND LOTIONING UP AFTER YOU PUT ON UNDERWEAR? POSSIBLY A BRA TOO?! make it quick chelsea, get up to the machines, you're missing Oprah.

6:00. Time to see what the little four-legged hellions are up to at home.
6:10. How is it possible for a dog that weighs 3lbs. to pooh and pee soooo much? I will spare you the details. Pray for our potty-training.

6:20. Puttzing around. Otherwise known as watching HGTV, potty training, laundry, eating leftovers, drinking wine while watching my favorite reality t.v. show, painting nails, potty training, magazines, gossiping on the phone, and potty training.

10:40. Bedtime :) A very happy time for Chelsea. (yawn) "Now I lay me down to sleep. I pray the Lord my soul to keep....." Can't wait to see what tomorrow holds for me!

Ladies Night

Oh yes it's ladies night, and the feelin's right...just kidding I highly dislike that song. BUT it does relate to this post I suppose. So last night my brother and I went to help(well-for the most part Chad just ate the food...) my mom frantically finish setting up her tables and such for her monthly card night with her girlfriends.

It is the last one of the winter so I wanted to get some pics before she took down the last of the winter decor!!

My mom happens to have a talent for decorating a room within an inch of it's life, however I have always loved growing up in such a cozy home:)
And seeing a little preview of her easter extravaganza made everything better (AND made me want chocolate!)

Hope the party was fabulous!

And the Husband goes to...

So as everyone probably knows, the Oscars were on Sunday and as usual, my favorite part is seeing all the beautiful dresses:) I really don't feel the need to see who wins best short foreign language animation and all the other crazy categories. And it is at events like these, when I find myself picking which dress of all the celebs, that I would wear, should some crazy random opportunity ever present itself:) I guess I miss my sorority formal days because of the dressing up! Anyway, I digress. I have my favorites from sunday night, but I won't take your time with that because it would really be a rambling! As I was thinking about this sort of sensationalized circus that takes place annually, I found myself (as I often do) correlating the Oscars to another of my loves-weddings! Is it just me or does it seem like the Oscars are trying to be the wedding of all Hollywood? Let me break it down here:                                                                                                                 Oscars

~Going through a drawn out ceremony
hopefully concluding in you ending up
with a little man of gold
~partying through the night
~giving back the millions of dollars worth
of diamonds you borrowed from Harry
  Winston (i don't feel bad)

                          Weddings

~hours of picking out a beautiful $$$$ gown
to feel like a princess and only be worn once

   heart of gold ;)

that with the right person, everyday puts
        the Oscars to shame :)

**serious warning**
I tease, but I know and fully respect the sanctity of marriage and in no way does an over the top Hollywood shindig compare. There.

One more thing!
I am so amused by all the fashion critics that contradict each other on the best/worst dressed.
I literally heard polar opposite opinions about every dress! "oh it looked like a cupcake, seen it a hundred times. sigh." says Mr.Fashionface, while someone else(who at one time, in one year wrote one fashion piece that makes them an expert) says (about the same dress) "this dress is too elegant and beautiful to be worn by such a young person". I laugh to myself, because really, who passed them through the fashion police academy?? Exactly

Work In Progress

I had heard a ton of hype about A New Earth, a new age-y kind of book out there and I decided to read it because I was at Costco and one of my favorite things to do is buy books at Costco! I'm severely ADD (really, its hard for me to even write posts without getting up to do something else or change topics!) anyway, I enjoyed reading it before bed because it kept my attention and really helped relax me. I had no idea it would be so much about the human personality. If you're looking for something to read, I highly recommend it, it tells you, or at least makes you think about yourself and our culture and it's actually funny, but I don't think it's meant to be...it's hard to explain if you haven't read it,but it really drives home the fact that we as people think too too much! And we are taken over not only by trying to impress and prove our success and abilities to others, but to ourselves.
I have always said I am a work in progress (whenever I realize I've done something immature or something I should have thought twice about) and now more than ever I am working on just loving life and the beautiful simplicity it can be if you let it! I'm also an overthinker/analyzer to the MAX. I get it from my mom. I love you mom, but you need to relax and have a glass of wine:) I'll have one with you.
My new Louis bag? LOVE it. Thinking about my next "career" venture? VERY  exciting. Possibly winning HGTV home giveaway in Sonoma? EXTREMELY  dreamy. But I know that those things really do not come close to being important in my big picture. I'm focusing on living in the moment and reminding myself that things don't make you happy. It's all in our control which is completely awesome. Not to mention freeing. Just loving the present and how beautiful God has made even the most simple things, like geese migration! (which I did watch running on the treadmill at the gym, so cute and random).
My grandpa had a few big seizures yesterday (possibly related to the stroke he had Sept. 11) and when things like that happen to those dearest to you, and your sitting with them in the hospital, all that silly stuff we shouldn't care about becomes clear and flies out the window! So, either you think I am a bit crazy now, or maybe you are thinking about loving life like me! Either way, have a wonderful saturday and stop to smell a flower or pet a doggie:) Oh-and tell those you love-you LOVE them!
Loving the simple things :)

Friday the 13th!

So I think it is only necessary that I delve back into blogging on this lovely day of friday the 13th. After all, I was born on a friday the 13. And David, my muffin, was also born on friday the 13th. Of the same month. So it has never been a negative spooky day for me:)
After one of my best friends, Gina, and I starting blogging about fashion, it wasn't long before I found myself burned out:( I mean how much can you write and not get payed for endorsements?! And how much do people even want to read?! Lately I've been intrigued and inspired by many adorable and funny blogs (like my one-day-sister-in-law Suzi's blog)Now I am trying out more of a ramble-y blog with no theme and I'm pretty happy with that! A friend from school several years ago loved blogging as a source of clearing your mind I guess, so maybe I will experience some mind-clearing as well! I'm hoping to keep our out of town loved ones more abreast if you will on life here in the mile high city and I think there will be a LOT to talk about -and hopefully inspire some to start blogging too!! Let's face it people: it is a huge part of the present and future. So, for those of you who know me, bare with me. And for those who don't, nice to informally meet you:) and here are a few things you should know about me:

1. I like to make lists (they make me feel organized and productive)
2.I'm a girls girl. Pink, flowers, decorating, the whole bit. Love it.
3. I like (grammatical) periods. And :) faces, and exclamation points!
4. I LOVE family and friends:)
5. You know I like you when I call you by a candy or baked good.
6.I get really easily excited.
7. I can be insanely sarcastic, but I'm working on it.

Here we go, 2nd time is the charm!!! ANNNND POST!
